DevOps Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA, USA; onsite work at a client location or hirify.global office may be required, with remote work available when compatible with client and company needs.

Salary: $90,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Deploy, verify, and monitor applications and services across physical servers, private cloud, and public cloud environments.
• Build and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for applications and infrastructure.
• Define strategies for SDLC automation, configuration management, and release management.
• Lead deployment automation and continuous integration practices.
• Collaborate with development and operations stakeholders to understand application dependencies and infrastructure.
• Contribute to software development and improve development workflows.

Requirements

• Experience with source code management tools such as Subversion and Git.
• Proficiency in Java or .NET, cross-platform scripting languages, and build tools such as Maven, Groovy, MSBuild, or NuGet.
• Experience administering continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, TFS, TeamCity, or Bamboo.
• Experience creating infrastructure automation solutions with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Understanding of Agile development and experience troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Must be authorized to work directly for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated unit, integration, and system testing.
• Understanding of high-availability and security strategies.
• Experience with Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, Azure, or OpenShift.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and self-direction skills.
