Staff DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Lehi, Utah, United States — hybrid, with office attendance Monday–Wednesday

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available AWS infrastructure.
• Operate the existing production platform while building infrastructure for the next-generation platform.
• Partner with the Staff Software Architect and Staff Data Architect on the new platform infrastructure foundation.
• Own CI/CD infrastructure and tooling, and drive infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Improve observability, lead incident response and root cause analysis, optimize cloud costs, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering, including staff-level or technical leadership experience.
• Deep hands-on AWS experience across compute, networking, containers, databases, storage, serverless, identity, and monitoring services.
• Strong infrastructure as code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, scripting and automation using Python or Bash, and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus/Grafana.
• Knowledge of networking, security groups, AWS security practices, SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks, and production incident management.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience with multi-country compliance, data residency, privacy regulations, or cross-border data handling.
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads or MLOps pipelines on AWS.
• Experience in high-growth SaaS environments or post-acquisition infrastructure consolidation.
