TL;DR

Location: Nashville, TN, United States (remote); assigned territory management and travel to clinical and hospital sites required, including 50–75% travel and overnight stays.

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 annually

What you will do

  • Install, calibrate, perform preventive maintenance on, and repair electro-mechanical medical equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions in line with safety, regulatory, quality, and SLA requirements.
  • Manage an assigned service territory by scheduling service calls, maintenance, travel, parts, and inventory.
  • Document service activities, maintenance records, inventory transactions, and test-equipment calibration.
  • Train customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures.
  • Support field projects, mentor technicians, share troubleshooting practices, and communicate service status to customers and leadership.

Requirements

  • Experience in biomedical engineering, including installation, maintenance, repair, mechanical adjustment, and independent troubleshooting of medical devices.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; alternatively, a non-related associate’s degree with 3+ years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience, BMET certification with 3+ years of experience, or completion of a U.S. military electrical or biomedical equipment technology program.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a territory, communicate professionally, and maintain customer relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in healthcare environments, follow PPE protocols, stand, kneel, bend, and regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel 50–75%, drive long distances or fly, and hold a valid driver’s license.

  • Previous field service experience.
  • Experience mentoring service technicians and contributing to troubleshooting guides and best practices.
