Chief Translator (Language Services)

The hirify.global is an international financial institution with a multilingual Language Services Division supporting the Fund's global operations.

What you will do

• Lead planning, coordination, and continuous improvement across translation, editorial, terminology, quality assurance, and translation project management services.
• Serve as Deputy Division Chief and principal advisor on translation-related strategy, policies, operations, and service delivery.
• Supervise and develop Translation Section Chiefs and oversee the Translation Coordination Center, including workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, and resource allocation.
• Ensure timely, high-quality multilingual products across English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and additional languages.
• Lead the modernization agenda through responsible adoption of AI-enabled workflows, automation, language technologies, and data-driven decision-making.
• Represent the Division in hirify.global-wide committees, cross-departmental initiatives, professional forums, and inter-institutional working groups.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in translation, interpretation, economics, law, or a closely related field with at least 11 years of progressively responsible experience; alternatively, a university degree or equivalent with 17 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced written and spoken proficiency in one or more languages covered by the Division.
• Substantial experience translating, revising, reviewing, and producing high-profile documents and publications.
• Significant experience managing high-volume operations with short deadlines, supervising staff and managers, and coordinating contractual employees and budget resources.
• Proven experience in a technologically advanced environment, including large language models, computer-assisted translation, machine translation, terminology management systems, and multilingual service technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, establish technology governance, develop staff capability, and manage stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
