Senior Localization Specialist (AI): Evaluating and training machine translation and AI models while building scalable language-quality measurement workflows across 36+ languages with an accent on MT optimization, automation, and data-driven quality benchmarks. Focus on designing MTQE and AI LQA systems, analyzing error patterns and business impact, and aligning translation architecture decisions with engineering and quality stakeholders.
Location: Berlin, Germany. Hybrid work with three days of in-office collaboration and two optional work-from-home focus days.

What you will do
- Evaluate and train machine translation and AI models across content types and languages.
- Define MT and AI optimization strategies and allocate machine translation, AI post-editing, and human translation or review.
- Design scalable language-quality measurement workflows using TranslatedOS integrations and automation.
- Measure and report on language quality across 36+ languages and establish quality benchmarks.
- Analyze quality data and error patterns to assess effects on users and business outcomes.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality Account Managers, and other stakeholders on machine translation architecture decisions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience evaluating and optimizing machine translation and AI models across content types and languages in a globally operating technology company.
- Experience with prompt engineering and fine-tuning LLMs for translation tasks.
- Strong knowledge of localization, translation management systems, quality evaluation frameworks, automation tools, translation memories, style guides, and glossaries.
- Experience designing scalable quality systems using MTQE, AI LQA, and human review.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn quality data into recommendations.
- Autonomous execution, test-and-learn mindset, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with TranslatedOS or similar AI-powered platforms.
- Background in computational linguistics, language technology, or a related technical field.
- Previous experience as a translator or linguist.
- Passion for AI-first localization workflows.
