Senior Staff Power Performance Architect (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Santa Clara, United States

Salary: $165,000–$265,000 per year, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Own pre-silicon power estimation across RTL-level and physical-design-level implementation.
• Build an architectural power estimation tool for AI workloads using system configuration and die-level metrics.
• Profile workloads using memory size, bandwidth, and compute and memory block gate counts.
• Partner with front-end architects, DV engineers, RTL teams, and backend designers to identify power activity windows and improve hardware capabilities.
• Lead micro-architecture, RTL design, synthesis, and logic and physical power-performance verification with CAD tools and semiconductor process technologies.
• Design power-saving and monitoring functions and participate in silicon bring-up and validation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience in IC power/performance architecture, RTL, or physical design.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Strong understanding of power, performance, micro-architecture, RTL, physical design, and the complete IC design flow.
• Familiarity with at least one EDA tool for power estimation.
• Programming proficiency in TCL and Python, including libraries, APIs, data parsing, and algorithmic problem-solving.
• Experience with power and performance metrics, scaling techniques, and PDN analysis, including TDP, PMAX, EDP, DFS, DVFS, AFS, AVFS, resonance, impedance, and voltage droop.
