Senior Test & Validation Engineer

Location: Onsite five days a week in Mossville, Illinois, United States. Domestic relocation is available. Travel is less than 10%. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year

What you will do

• Perform mechanical testing, including fatigue and fracture mechanics testing, for components and bolted joints.
• Develop proprietary tests, design fixturing, analyze test data, and interpret results for engine and machine applications.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to define testing strategies, project timing, budgets, and success criteria.
• Lead project execution, manage plans and budgets, communicate with stakeholders and suppliers, and deliver project outcomes.
• Coordinate external laboratory and university testing, write test instructions, and direct day-to-day laboratory activities.
• Provide technical support for new production introduction, product improvement, and assurance of supply projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related field is desired.
• Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, communication, technical problem-solving, and product-testing skills.
• Deep expertise in mechanics of materials, mechanical test apparatus, instrumentation, and data acquisition and analysis.
• 5+ years of experience focused on mechanical testing and component validation preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic-based fatigue testing, especially MTS or Instron equipment, preferred.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, especially Creo, preferred.
