Shipping Lead

What you will do

• Coordinate and schedule outbound loads with sales and production teams.
• Determine loading order and product placement, and arrange loads with common carriers and freight companies.
• Route orders and dispatch carriers with delivery instructions aligned with customer receiving times.
• Verify shipping documents, record discrepancies, and maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Investigate order shortages, communicate findings to sales and administration, and handle tracing or expediting requests.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and prepare required reports and correspondence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of experience in shipping and receiving or a related area.
• Working knowledge of DOT concepts, regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Working knowledge of loading techniques, weight limitations, and company procedures.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook, plus basic knowledge of lumber math, grades, and species.
• Successful completion of the forklift driver licensing process; must be at least 18 years old.
