Quality Engineer I (Electrical Power Grid Manufacturing)

Salary: $62,000–$82,513 annually, plus eligibility for a quarterly incentive pay program.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve quality programs for production operations, including NCRs, control plans, process FMEAs, supplier performance ratings, and quality alerts.
• Perform material review board walks, analyze quality data and first-pass yield failures, and report quality metrics and improvement projects.
• Lead root-cause analysis, containment, corrective and preventive actions using methods such as 8D, Six Sigma, and Red X.
• Develop standard work for manufactured products and ensure work instructions remain current.
• Conduct ISO 9001-based internal and process audits and develop supplier auditing and PPAP capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering, suppliers, material handling, incoming inspection, operations, and cross-functional project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience.
• Ability to perform hands-on quality problem solving in production operations, including occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, stooping, and standing.
• Working knowledge of quality data analysis and corrective-action validation.
• Basic PC and office software skills; experience with Minitab and ERP software is relevant to the role.

• Plant operations or issue-resolution experience.
• Experience with PPAP, APQP, SPC, and FMEA.
• Basic GD&T and metrology knowledge.
