What you will do

• Operate and set up CNC milling machines, lathes, drill presses, and related tooling to produce simple to complex metal parts.
• Edit CNC programs at the machine and identify programming errors during setup to improve productivity.
• Create complex CNC programs in MasterCam when required and identify fixturing and tooling needs.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, job routers, technical data, and MIL-SPEC standards while maintaining tight tolerances.
• Inspect first-piece runs and finished parts, troubleshoot machine and tool deficiencies, and perform emergency repairs when necessary.
• Assist with complex-part estimating, machine setups, and training less experienced machinists.

Requirements

• High school diploma, trade school certificate, or equivalent.
• At least 15 years of CNC machining experience, or 5 years of MasterCam programming experience plus 10 additional years of CNC milling experience; 15 or more years of manual machining may substitute for the CNC requirement.
• Ability to set up complex parts on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills or lathes and edit CNC programs at the machine.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances across aluminum, steel, stainless steel, bronze, and other metals.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Must pass drug and background screening.

Nice to have

• Experience operating and setting up a Mazak Integrex i-350.
• MasterCam programming experience.
