Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Madison, WI, USA; onsite, 3rd-shift night work

What you will do

• Provide mechanical, electrical, civil, and general trade maintenance support during the 3rd shift to keep plant operations running.
• Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment across plant and office areas.
• Maintain pumps, motors, boilers, HVAC and refrigeration systems, packaging machinery, utilities, and building fixtures.
• Perform lubrication, equipment cleaning, wiring work under supervision, material-handling equipment movement, and site-preparation tasks.
• Complete inspections and preventive maintenance activities in SAP.
• Document work orders, parts, tools, maintenance activities, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Background or training in mechanical, electrical, or a related technical field.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience diagnosing and repairing production equipment.
• Ability to work independently during night-shift hours while coordinating with daytime operations.
• Safe use of maintenance tools and ability to read and follow written and verbal procedures.
• Problem-solving skills, basic math proficiency, and familiarity with English and metric measurements.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, move through the plant, and wear PPE or respiratory protection.

Nice to have

• Technical education, certification, or a state apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical work.
• Maintenance experience in food, chemical, or regulated manufacturing.
• Experience with SAP or similar maintenance and plant-management systems.
