KR -Prelim/Prepress Operator 1 (Digital and Offset Printing)

What you will do

• Prepare, download, review, and process electronic files for digital and offset printing.
• Use prepress, desktop publishing, and PDF-processing software to adjust files and prepare page layouts and impositions.
• Verify job tickets against files, including quantities, stock, color, and finishing requirements.
• Identify production issues, clarify requirements with Customer Service and Planning, and route files to the appropriate printing equipment.
• Prepare and match color output, maintain offset plate-making equipment, and replace plate materials.
• Maintain inventory of printing supplies, assist with ordering, and follow safety, quality, and production procedures.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of digital and offset printing processes.
• Ability to review electronic files, identify production issues, and interpret job tickets and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple jobs and collaborate with Customer Service, Planning, Prepress, and Production.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate plate-making and related prepress equipment.
• Compliance with SQF and environmental health and safety rules is required.
