Associate Planner

Location: San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $35.00–$42.00 annually

What you will do

• Prepare and process general plans, specific plans, community and corridor master plans, development applications, zoning analyses, and related planning documents.
• Manage planning and development projects from concept development through implementation.
• Participate in public engagement activities, coordinate public meetings, and present project materials.
• Support business development through proposal preparation and participate in professional organizations.
• Contribute to urban design, site planning, conceptual design, entitlement processing, and development feasibility analysis.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in planning or a related field with at least four years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with six years of equivalent experience.
• Experience preparing and processing a broad range of planning documents and development applications.
• Experience managing projects and participating in public engagement activities.
• Excellent oral and written communication, organization, and management skills.
• Ability to coordinate and present at public meetings, understand production processes, and apply local codes, policies, and city or county guidelines.
• A good driving record is required.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS.
• Experience with land development processes in both the private and public sectors.
