Jr Estimator (Construction)

Location: New York City, NY (on site)

Pay rate: $35–55 per hour

hirify.global, LLC is a construction management and consulting firm providing services across the construction life cycle, including construction management, program management, owner’s representation, resident engineering, inspection, preconstruction consulting, change order review, value engineering, document control, and staff augmentation.

What you will do

• Develop construction cost estimates for educational, healthcare, commercial, and public agency building projects.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare estimates using established construction management methodologies.
• Review blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to calculate material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Support bid leveling, trade contractor scope reviews, and validation of contractor and subcontractor pricing.
• Evaluate project delivery methods, constructability, value engineering opportunities, change orders, and budget variations.
• Collaborate with senior estimators, construction managers, clients, and other project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of direct construction estimating experience in a construction management or general contracting environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, RSMeans, or Timberline.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of building construction methods, materials, project sequencing, and New York market pricing.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, communication, and collaboration skills.
