Associate Specialist, Patient Access (Morning Shift)

Location: Onsite at Ardent - Mountainside in Montclair, New Jersey; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States. Morning shift: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, including every other weekend.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration activities for hospital patients.
• Assign medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain and obtain signatures for consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other required forms.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute and document required notices.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, conduct account audits, and provide customer service in compliance with organizational policies.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Openness to innovation, including using AI to improve processes and patient and client experiences.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
