Director, Human Resources (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Lodi, California, United States; occasional travel of 10–20%, primarily to Cepheid’s Sunnyvale headquarters.

Annual salary: $160,000–$220,000 USD, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead HR business partnership for Lodi’s in-vitro diagnostics and plastics operations, aligning people strategies with site objectives and growth plans.
• Advise leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, and scalable manufacturing operations.
• Serve on the Lodi Site Leadership Team and contribute HR expertise to operational, safety, quality, and expansion decisions.
• Partner with Operations, Quality and Regulatory, EHS, Finance, and other functions to improve site performance.
• Champion a safety-first culture and reinforce safety and quality as core site values.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Lodi HR team while driving talent management, succession planning, and associate development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Experience leading and developing HR teams, managing direct reports and contingent or temporary workforces, and partnering with senior leaders and frontline managers.
• Strong communication, influencing, and matrixed-organization skills.
• Hands-on experience with change initiatives and Lean, Six Sigma, or hirify.global Business System methodologies.
• Deep knowledge of employment law and HR compliance, including complex employee relations matters.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, advanced HR certification such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP, and experience supporting manufacturing or operations environments.
• Experience in multi-shift manufacturing, life sciences, medical devices, in-vitro diagnostics, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with distributed or matrixed HR teams, cGMP, ISO, or FDA environments.
