NPD Test Engineer (SOLIDWORKS)

Location: Onsite in Blauvelt, New York, Monday–Friday, at a manufacturing facility; occasional presence on the manufacturing floor and 5–10% travel required.

Salary: $86,000–$96,000 per year.

What you will do

• Perform product testing, validation, characterization, reliability, and engineering investigation activities throughout new product development.
• Interpret UL, ANSI, customer, internal, and other applicable standards to create validation plans, test strategies, and compliance requirements.
• Design, assemble, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory test setups, fixtures, instrumentation, and LabVIEW data acquisition systems.
• Develop and improve test methods, procedures, work instructions, data collection forms, and laboratory documentation.
• Analyze, document, and present test results, observations, and technical recommendations to project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product management, project management, design, controls, sustaining engineering, and manufacturing teams to support prototypes, design reviews, improvements, and product release.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in product development, validation testing, laboratory testing, or a similar engineering environment.
• Ability to interpret industry standards, technical specifications, engineering drawings, and test requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.
• Successful employment eligibility verification, background checks, drug screening, and required pre-employment testing are conditions of employment.

Nice to have

• Experience with National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW.
• Experience supporting products from concept development through product release.
