Associate Corporate Counsel (Insurance)

Location: Fully remote within California; occasional travel of up to 10–15% may be required for company meetings, industry events, or business activities.

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year, plus bonus incentive.

What you will do

• Advise business leaders on insurance regulatory and corporate legal matters.
• Provide guidance on privacy, AI governance, corporate compliance, and emerging regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and regulatory filings.
• Partner with Product, Claims, Compliance, Actuarial, and executive leadership teams on compliant insurance offerings.
• Support corporate governance, board reporting, and policy development.
• Manage regulatory inquiries, examinations, market conduct matters, and legislative monitoring.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; California licensure is required.
• 5–10 years of experience in insurance law, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, or corporate transactions.
• Deep understanding of personal auto insurance products and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience advising cross-functional business partners and executive leadership.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business guidance.
