Salary: $129,300–$172,300 annually

What you will do
- Lead underwriting vision and strategy for technology and AI-enabled products that support underwriting decisions, risk evaluation, and operational efficiency.
- Identify, evaluate, communicate, and manage title insurance, regulatory, operational, and model-related risks.
- Provide title insurance, real estate conveyancing, underwriting workflow, and real estate transaction expertise to product, design, engineering, research, data science, and AI teams.
- Partner with product and technical teams to design and deploy AI-assisted underwriting tools and workflows.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, information security, and risk management stakeholders to support responsible AI use.
- Mentor junior product underwriting counsel and contribute to enterprise-wide underwriting principles.
Requirements
- Law degree and admission to law practice appropriate for the position and location.
- 3–5 years of product underwriting counsel experience, or 7–10 years of title underwriting or real estate law experience with demonstrated aptitude for the role.
- Understanding of AI-assisted workflows, generative AI tools, machine learning concepts, and automation technologies relevant to underwriting and real estate transactions.
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, explainability, consistency, and underwriting applicability.
- Strong knowledge of land titles, real estate law, conveyancing, and federal and state laws related to title insurance and settlement services.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, business, strategic, negotiation, and complex project execution skills.
