Business Development Director (Energy Efficiency)

Location: Remote - Illinois

Salary: $116,400–$174,600 annual base salary, plus an uncapped incentive plan with a total target of $225k+.

What you will do

• Support BD Managers and regional teams with territory plans and pursuit strategies.
• Coach team members on prospecting, client engagement, and opportunity qualification.
• Generate leads, engage prospective clients, and maintain relationships across the energy industry.
• Monitor utility trends, regulatory developments, competitor activity, and potential strategic partners.
• Contribute regional market insights to national business development strategy.
• Collaborate with BD, Solutions, and Delivery teams on proposals, renewals, and opportunity planning.

Requirements

• Required experience in the energy efficiency industry.
• 12+ years of experience with a BA or 10+ years with an MBA.
• Demonstrated ability to lead major business development efforts and develop advanced BD concepts and practices.
• Ability to provide national market insights and contribute to national BD strategy.
• Ability to serve as a business development subject matter expert.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship or immigration support.
