TL;DR
Strategic Procurement Manager (Manufacturing): Developing and executing sourcing strategies for electrical distribution manufacturing with an accent on supplier negotiations, cost reduction, quality, lead-time improvement, and delivery performance. Focus on qualifying and developing suppliers, mitigating supply risks, analyzing capacity and market data, and coordinating sourcing decisions across Procurement, Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Finance.
Location: 100% onsite in Franklin, Tennessee, United States; no remote work. Occasional travel to suppliers or facilities may be required.

What you will do
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies supporting cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and business continuity goals.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, onboard, and develop suppliers for manufacturing and operational needs.
- Lead negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, lead times, order quantities, stocking agreements, and long-term supply contracts.
- Manage supplier performance through reviews, scorecards, corrective actions, and development initiatives.
- Lead cost reduction, supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, localization, and supply risk mitigation projects.
- Partner with Procurement, Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Finance while analyzing supplier capacity, market trends, demand, and supply risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, commodity management, or supplier management within manufacturing.
- Experience with supplier negotiations, sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing supply chains, supplier lead times, material planning, cost drivers, and production support.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, and supplier performance reporting tools.
Nice to have
- Experience in electrical equipment, power distribution, switchgear, industrial manufacturing, or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
- Experience with supplier development, localization, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and material flow concepts.
- Demonstrated career growth and readiness to take on broader leadership responsibilities.
