Head of Localization

Location: Toronto, Dallas, or Redwood City

Targeted annual pay: CAD 154,000–232,000 in Toronto; USD 177,000–265,000 in Dallas; USD 213,000–319,000 in Redwood City. Base pay excludes bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own localization strategy, language sets, service levels, and translation quality standards.
• Evaluate priority languages and language tiering models as the business expands into new markets.
• Manage approved translation and localization vendors, tools, integrations, and enterprise-wide spending.
• Establish a global content delivery pipeline and improve self-service translation capabilities.
• Act as the business owner for translation systems, functionality, and interfaces.
• Train and advise cross-functional and regional stakeholders on localization standards, tooling, and processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in localization, translation management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of language tiering models and translation quality standards.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and driving process improvements.
• Familiarity with translation tools and technologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, including high emotional intelligence.
• Ability to work from the Toronto, Dallas, or Redwood City location.
