Lead Localization Operations Program Manager

Location: US remote eligible; must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required by agreement with the manager.

Salary: $168,000–$210,000 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

What you will do

• Own complex, cross-functional localization programs from strategy through execution.
• Translate localization priorities into technical roadmaps and identify tradeoffs early.
• Design and implement scalable solutions using AI and machine translation to improve localization quality, cost, and efficiency.
• Shape long-term localization technology direction in partnership with leadership, engineering, and internationalization teams.
• Manage technical relationships and integration solutions with external language service and technology providers.
• Drive improvements in localization processes, automation, and quality frameworks at scale.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience in Technical Program Management or Product Management.
• Experience delivering global, technically complex programs independently.
• Deep knowledge of localization and internationalization, including end-to-end localization solutions or AI-driven tools such as machine translation engines, LLMs, or AI content evaluation systems.
• Technical fluency with language technology APIs, machine translation pipelines, and content processing.
• Experience influencing technical roadmaps across business, engineering, product, and external partners.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
