Localization Manager (AI)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States. Onsite role requiring independent authorization to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual OTE: $155,000–$185,000 USD

What you will do

• Manage translation and localization vendors, including SOWs, SLAs, workflows, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain linguistic QA processes, style guides, glossaries, and issue resolution across product, web, and marketing content.
• Lead new language and locale launches from scoping and resourcing through translation, QA, and go-live.
• Localize go-to-market materials and landing pages in partnership with regional marketing, sales, web, and design teams.
• Improve localization workflows, translation management systems, automation, and string handoff processes.
• Track localization budgets, volumes, turnaround metrics, and regional market requirements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in localization management, translation project management, or a related global content or marketing role.
• Experience managing localization vendors and multilingual programs at scale.
• Hands-on experience with translation management systems such as Smartling, Lokalise, Phrase, or Crowdin.
• Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Sales.
• Strong understanding of internationalization and localization best practices, with close attention to linguistic and cultural quality.
• Fluent English and proficiency in another language required; Korean or Japanese preferred. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted translation and quality workflows, including LLM or machine-translation post-editing and automated QA.
• Experience in B2B SaaS, hardware/IoT, or security industries.
