Customs Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Hamburg, Bremen or Augsburg, Germany; mobile working and flexible working arrangements are available.

What you will do

• Ensure compliant customs processes and act as the primary customs contact for hirify.global Aerostructures.
• Coordinate customs activities across German locations and maintain alignment with customs authorities.
• Perform internal customs audits, manage quarterly accounting, and lead negotiations on customs permits and processes.
• Initiate customs cost-optimization projects and manage related risks and opportunities.
• Oversee the development, implementation, testing, and optimization of the SAP GTS customs system.
• Control operational customs areas, manage external customs agents, report KPIs, and train or advise Purchasing and Logistics teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Business, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant commercial apprenticeship with additional qualifications.
• Several years of professional experience in customs and foreign trade.
• Proficiency in SAP, ideally SAP GTS, and Google G-Suite.
• Professional English proficiency at minimum C1 level.
• Native or bilingual German proficiency at C2 level.
• Strong communication, conflict-management, teamwork, autonomy, and reliability.
