Research Technician (Molecular Biology)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

Salary: $47,500–$51,300 per year

What you will do

• Conduct an individual research project focused on RNA biology, cancer biology, gene regulation, and mRNA translation.
• Apply molecular, computational, biochemical, and cell-based research techniques.
• Learn and perform recombinant protein expression and purification, including maintaining stocks of laboratory proteins.
• Prepare laboratory solutions, competent cells, and reagents while maintaining detailed research notebooks.
• Manage laboratory supplies, equipment, safety procedures, vendors, and Environmental Health and Safety communications.
• Participate in lab meetings, present findings, and collect data for publications with authorship when appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• At least one year of laboratory experience.
• Reliability, organization, strong interpersonal skills, and effective time management.
• Ability to work independently with mentorship and contribute positively to a research group.

Nice to have

• Experience with PCR, cloning, bacterial transformation, and protein purification.
