NewsNation - Segment Producer - NNL Weekend

Location: New York, NY; onsite

Salary: $66,300–$80,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Assist in the control room during breaking news and live television newscasts.
• Pitch story and segment ideas and research topics using online sources, video archives, and other information resources.
• Select and organize the strongest elements to tell stories effectively.
• Write, produce, and coordinate scripts and show elements for interview segments and news packages.
• Keep executive and senior producers informed about story developments.
• Coach and mentor staff members while collaborating with network leadership.

Requirements

• Experience producing for a national news program or newscasts in a top-10 market.
• Experience covering politics and government, with strong news judgment and rapid decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with ENPS.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work under deadlines while managing multiple assignments.
• Flexibility to work different shifts and adapt to change.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
