What you will do
- Develop scopes, technical bases, installation requirements, and testing requirements for nuclear engineering design changes.
- Perform or support stress, structural, dynamic, seismic, steel, and concrete design analyses.
- Research engineering issues, evaluate alternatives, and present recommendations.
- Support design changes through work order reviews, corrective action assignments, and field installation activities.
- Prepare design and procurement specifications, technical requirements, engineering calculations, licensing evaluations, drawings, and regulatory documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; an accredited master’s degree may be accepted in lieu of the bachelor’s degree.
- Engineer III: 4–6 years of engineering experience and at least 1 year of nuclear experience.
- Senior Engineer: at least 6 years of engineering experience, or 5 years with state registration as a Professional Engineer, plus at least 1 year of nuclear experience.
- Ability to obtain nuclear-site unescorted access and security clearance.
- Ability to work lawfully in the United States without current or future employment-based immigration sponsorship.
- Must meet applicable ANSI and Nuclear Operating Fleet personnel qualification requirements.
Nice to have
- Civil engineering degree and utility industry experience.
- Finite element analysis and dynamic/seismic structural analysis experience.
- Experience with ANSYS, GTStrudl, SuperPipe, AutoPipe, Caesar II, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of ASME, AISC, and ACI design codes and nuclear industry design processes.
