Project Mgr / Sr / Prin (Construction Utility Projects)

Location: Rockport, Indiana, United States; on-site. Work may take place at power plants, nuclear facilities, construction sites, offices, and other AEP locations. Travel is typically 25% or less, with additional travel possible for specific assignments.

Salary: $87,633–$151,132.50 per year, depending on qualifications and level.

What you will do

• Plan, organize, coordinate, execute, monitor, control, and close utility construction projects.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, staffing, reporting, and risk controls.
• Lead planning meetings, outage updates, stakeholder communications, and project status reporting.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, contracting, estimating, construction, startup, and quality activities.
• Manage procurement plans and outside-service contracts, including bids, negotiations, vendor selection, and performance oversight.
• Coach project team members, promote continuous improvement, and progressively lead intermediate projects.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in project management, major construction, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, outage management, or comparable production environments.
• For the Project Manager level: 3 years of qualified experience with a bachelor's degree, 5 years with an associate degree, or 7 years with a high school diploma/GED.
• For the Senior level: 5 years with a bachelor's degree, 7 years with an associate degree, or 9 years with a high school diploma/GED, plus prior Project Manager-level experience or equivalent demonstrated competency.
• For the Principal level: 7 years with a bachelor's degree, 9 years with an associate degree, or 11 years with a high school diploma/GED, plus senior-level project management experience or equivalent demonstrated competency.
• Knowledge of construction safety, negotiations, scope control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls, reporting, quality control, and risk management.
• Valid state driver's license required; ability to perform light physical duties and work safely at construction and power-generation sites, including potential hazardous areas.

Nice to have

• Experience in utilities, commercial nuclear power, and/or IT systems.
• PMP certification.
