What you will do
- Analyze patient samples using nucleic acid isolation, microarrays, PCR, qPCR, and NGS.
- Perform extractions, library and control preparation, reagent preparation, plate setup, data analysis, inventory management, proficiency testing, and quality control.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments including KingFisher, Hamilton MicroLab Star, MiSeq, Agilent Bravo, and other laboratory equipment.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, specimen-processing procedures, safety standards, and documentation practices.
- Support quality assurance, corrective actions, process improvements, and accurate reporting of results.
- Assist with training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience; clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with micropipettes, multichannel pipettes, dilutions, and safe handling of samples and reagents.
- Knowledge of CAP, CLIA, FDA, and OSHA regulations; ability to meet requirements for high-complexity testing personnel.
- Experience in molecular diagnostics, molecular microbiology, or genetics in a clinical laboratory is preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship is required.
Nice to have
- ASCP, AMT, AAB, or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Thermo KingFisher, QuantStudio, Hamilton MicroLab STAR, Illumina MiSeq or iSCAN, Agilent Bravo, or Tecan Freedom EVO.
- Experience with laboratory information systems and strong computer skills.
