Senior Software Engineer (COBOL)

Location: Louisville, KY, United States

Salary: $106,900–$147,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Code software applications aligned with business requirements and quality standards.
• Standardize software quality assurance procedures, oversee testing and debugging, and develop fixes.
• Research complaints and recommend or implement solutions for complex software issues.
• Design and review software solutions and support smooth transitions to development teams.
• Collaborate with business leaders to develop solutions that improve functionality, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
• Influence departmental strategy and make technical decisions independently.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5 or more years of mainframe experience designing, developing, and testing software applications or infrastructure.
• Professional experience with COBOL.
• Experience with CICS, VSAM, and DB2.
• Agile experience.
• Ability to work full time, 40 hours per week, in the Louisville, KY location.

Nice to have

• CAS knowledge.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, MongoDB, or Azure Databricks.
• Master’s degree.
