Head of Social, Vulture (Social Media)

Salary: $100,000–$110,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead Vulture’s social media department and establish platform strategies aligned with its editorial tone and perspective.
• Create and publish content across articles, video, podcasts, games, and live events.
• Develop tactics for audience reach, engagement, subscription conversion, sponsorship fulfillment, and brand building.
• Monitor social performance, analyze data, track KPIs, and use insights to influence editorial decisions.
• Manage, coach, and prioritize work for the social team while improving collaboration and processes with editorial departments.
• Pitch new social franchises, coordinate behind-the-scenes and live-event coverage, evaluate emerging platforms, build a freelance producer roster, and manage the talent, travel, and freelancer budget.

Requirements

• Extensive social media experience, preferably at a digital media company.
• Experience managing direct reports and collaborating with adjacent departments.
• Track record of growing an audience and producing distinctive creative work.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with Adobe Suite, especially Premiere, Figma, Meta Suite, and social scheduling platforms such as Dash Social.
• Strong cultural fluency and enthusiasm for entertainment, including shows, movies, albums, creators, podcasts, and video games.
