Engineering Manager, Data Platform

What you will do

• Lead the Data Platform team in designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure and tooling for analytics, data science, and data engineering workloads.
• Define the technical roadmap and architecture in partnership with the Principal Engineer.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics, product, and engineering teams to turn user needs into platform capabilities.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, usability, observability, and governance of data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration systems.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through design discussions, code reviews, and code contributions.
• Hire, coach, and develop engineers while communicating roadmap priorities and progress to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading teams or projects.
• Experience building internal platforms or developer tools, preferably in a data-intensive environment.
• Strong understanding of data orchestration, warehousing, streaming, and transformation tools, including technologies such as Airflow, Dagster, BigQuery, Snowflake, Kafka, and SQLMesh.
• Proficiency with AWS or GCP, containers, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Ability to lead cross-functional workstreams, translate user needs into robust platform capabilities, and apply a product mindset.
• Must be based in the United States; the role is remote.
