Manager, Data Engineering

Location: Remote within the United States; not currently hiring residents of Delaware, Hawaii, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont, Puerto Rico, and other US territories. Up to 10% travel may be required.

Salary: $150,000–$165,000 per year, plus an eligible bonus target.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor data engineering teams while remaining hands-on in technical execution and solution delivery.
• Recruit, develop, retain, and coach engineers and engineering leaders.
• Remove delivery roadblocks and improve continuous delivery, engineering processes, and organizational scalability.
• Partner with Product and senior leadership on product vision, strategy, and execution plans.
• Ensure products and platforms are secure, compliant, reliable, and operationally sound.
• Influence cross-functional technical and operational decisions and promote engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software, database, and data solution development experience.
• Experience balancing hands-on technical delivery with people leadership in a player-coach role.
• Experience designing and supporting large-scale data pipelines, integrations, APIs, and high-volume data processing environments.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data movement patterns, and scalable system design.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, accountable, and empathetic leadership style.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• AWS Certified Data Engineer certification.
