Director, Content Strategy (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; not available for hire or work in New Mexico or Hawaii.

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead AI-powered content strategy and scalable content ecosystems for client engagements.
• Drive content governance, audits, workflow design, lifecycle management, and content operations.
• Define information architecture, content models, taxonomies, metadata systems, voice and tone frameworks, and messaging guidelines.
• Design conversational experiences across chat, voice, and agentic systems, including dialogue flows, interaction scripts, guardrails, and error-handling pathways.
• Develop AI content pipelines, golden queries and responses, training-data readiness frameworks, and human-in-the-loop review processes.
• Lead senior client relationships, multidisciplinary collaboration, account-growth opportunities, and proposal development.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, content design, or adjacent strategic roles.
• Experience in an agency, consulting, or client-services environment and with enterprise-scale content systems.
• Expertise in content governance, information architecture, content modeling, editorial strategy, taxonomy, and multi-channel planning.
• Expertise in conversation strategy, dialogue-flow mapping, conversational AI platforms, intent taxonomies, and AI content pipeline strategy.
• Applied understanding of LLM behavior, prompting, context windows, hallucination risks, and model limitations.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage large-scale client engagements, communicate complex systems clearly, and balance multiple programs.
