Quality Assurance Analyst (QA Automation)

Location: Remote for candidates anywhere in Canada and the United States. Travel is required as needed, approximately 5%, including international travel to Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. Candidates must hold a valid passport and be legally eligible to travel. Preference is given to candidates able to work in EST or CST.

What you will do

• Design testing plans and strategies for UI, API, load, performance, integration, and regression testing.
• Oversee QA practices, metrics, tools, and processes across web and client/server products.
• Write and maintain automated test suites for front-end and back-end components using TestComplete and ReadyAPI.
• Install and configure test environments and maintain scripts for refreshing them.
• Collect product-quality metrics and identify trends over time.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to improve software quality and introduce effective tools and methodologies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software development QA.
• Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle and QA practices.
• Experience with manual and automated test case generation and automated testing using TestComplete and SQL.
• Experience with MS SQL, bug-tracking systems such as Jira or DevOps, and test planning.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and prepare release notes and supporting documents.
• Valid passport, legal eligibility for international travel, and availability for a remote role in Canada or the United States.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Utility CIS.
• Experience with GitHub repository strategies, ALM, build automation, and packaging.
• Ability to lead and coordinate QA activities across multiple development teams.
• Ability to read C# and SQL code and help identify root-cause code sections.
• Knowledge of test automation best practices.
