QA Engineer (Automation)

Salary: $72,000–$82,000 annually, depending on experience

What you will do

• Build and maintain automated tests for new features, bug fixes, regression scenarios, and real customer workflows.
• Own the automated test suite as a production-quality codebase, applying reusable design, refactoring, code reviews, and maintainability practices.
• Design and implement testing across UI, REST API, and integration layers, including authentication, authorization, error handling, and data integrity.
• Investigate test failures, identify root causes, eliminate flaky tests, and close coverage gaps based on product risk and customer impact.
• Use SQL and diagnostic tools to validate data and troubleshoot application behavior.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering, Product Management, Customer Success, and other stakeholders to communicate quality risks and release readiness.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in QA Engineering, SDET, or web application test automation.
• Strong experience with Playwright and maintainable TypeScript test automation.
• Experience testing REST APIs, including Swagger/OpenAPI-documented endpoints, and designing tests across UI, API, and integration layers.
• Knowledge of test automation architecture, test isolation, reusable components, test data management, assertions, parallel execution, and maintainability.
• Experience with Git, pull-request workflows, code reviews, CI/CD, SQL or relational databases, and test management or issue tracking tools such as TestRail or Jira.
• Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing, plus analytical and communication skills in Agile environments.

Nice to have

• Experience designing or maintaining large-scale automated test frameworks.
• TypeScript and Node.js experience beyond test automation.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3 and CloudWatch.
• Experience with complex enterprise workflows, API-first testing, test reporting, quality metrics, performance, accessibility, or security testing.
• Interest in technology supporting nonprofit organizations and social impact.
