What you will do
- Lead inspections, testing, preventive maintenance, and repairs for campus-wide HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, dust collection, and related facility systems.
- Direct plumbing, compressed air, electrical, and HVAC-focused technicians while scheduling daily work and prioritizing assignments.
- Plan and execute site improvement projects aligned with business objectives.
- Observe contractor work, enforce safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and stop work when conditions are unsafe.
- Maintain trade records, coordinate vendor finances with purchasing and accounts payable, and manage service providers.
- Coach and develop technicians while communicating daily activities, projects, team morale, and issues to management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 3+ years of facilities management experience.
- Knowledge of chilled water systems, boilers, VFDs, pumps, PLCs, condensers, split systems, air compressors, dust collectors, and related mechanical equipment.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and develop continuous-improvement solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness standards, communication, and prioritization skills.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Knowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint; asset management software; budgets; third-party vendors; and contract negotiations.
