Senior Staff Data Engineer (AWS)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States of America; hybrid work with remote flexibility part of the week

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 annual base salary, with potential bonus, benefits, and related incentives.

What you will do

• Lead large-scale data engineering projects across multiple teams and manage complex, long-term delivery.
• Own mission-critical data systems from architecture and implementation through operations.
• Design and build end-to-end analytics solutions for customer 360, finance, product, sales, and other business domains.
• Research technical solutions, conduct proof-of-concepts, and evaluate vendors and data technologies.
• Establish engineering best practices, improve data delivery, and automate manual processes.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers while promoting technical excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or distributed systems, including at least 5 years in technical leadership roles.
• 7+ years building and maintaining scalable data platforms, plus 5+ years with cloud columnar databases such as Snowflake or Google BigQuery.
• 3+ years of production experience with dbt and modern ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Airflow, Snowflake, Fivetran, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with data governance, security controls, access management, observability, alerting, incident management, and Python or another listed programming language.
