Paint Aircraft Technician A

What you will do

• Prepare aircraft components and airframe surfaces by sanding, masking, filling, washing, and removing dents.
• Apply corrosion-preventive treatments, primers, special materials, and finish coats.
• Mix and tint paint and apply coatings according to manufacturer instructions.
• Lay out customer-specified paint schemes and complete brush touch-ups, cleaning, striping lines, and overspray removal.
• Complete time sheets, discrepancy sheets, technical references, toolbox audits, and work completion records.
• Resolve paint-related issues while maintaining quality and cost-effective practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least four years of experience in painting and paint preparation for metal and composite/fiberglass components.
• Strong paint skills and previous paint work experience.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and bills of material to apply the correct coatings according to technical data.
• Ability to use basic hand tools to remove and install hardware.
• Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR requirements and have current U.S. work authorization.
• Effective verbal and written English communication is required.
