Location: Gilmer, Texas; successful candidates must reside within a 30-minute drive of the Gilmer Service Center

Salary: $36.08–$58.62 per hour, depending on classification: Lineman C $36.08/hour, Lineman B $42.48/hour, and Lineman A $58.62/hour.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, repair, rearrange, operate, remove, and inspect de-energized electrical transmission and distribution facilities.
• Patrol transmission lines, identify irregularities, prepare right-of-way documentation, and report unsafe or abnormal conditions.
• Install and repair overhead lines, poles, towers, anchors, guys, conductors, shield wires, splices, dead-ends, and terminals.
• Assemble tower and pole structures, climb transmission structures, and use ropes, rigging, tools, and truck-mounted lifting or pulling equipment.
• Assist with live-line tools, bare-hand techniques, rubber gloves, sleeves, and other approved transmission-line work methods under direct supervision.
• Maintain tools, equipment, work areas, records, reports, and support the training of other employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• For Lineman C: at least one year of transmission electrical power line experience, or qualifying electrical power line education and internship experience.
• For Lineman B: at least two years of experience as Lineman C or equivalent experience, with Lineman C qualifications.
• For Lineman A: completed apprentice lineman training with B-200 certification, or at least four years of line work experience for external candidates, plus the required assessments.
• Must reside within a 30-minute drive of the Gilmer Service Center and pass a physical abilities assessment.
