Utilities Line Technician

Salary: $26.64–$40.53 per hour

Texas A&M University’s Utilities & Energy Services department produces, delivers, and manages utility and energy services across the university.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, test, and repair overhead and underground high-voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Work with cables, transformers, switchgear, and related distribution equipment.
• Perform technical work at heights and in confined spaces while following safety standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues on the safe execution of utility operations.
• Depending on experience, assist with training, perform complex work independently, oversee projects, or lead crew planning and scheduling.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience maintaining and operating overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Experience installing and servicing high-voltage distribution systems.
• Valid Class B driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within six months.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces and comply with required safety standards.
