What you will do
- Lead the 0-to-1 setup and strategic planning of a full-scenario AI translation system covering product details, marketing campaigns, customer service communication, and legal terms.
- Drive the implementation and iteration of NMT and LLM translation models in business operations.
- Train, test, and fine-tune German translation models while building and maintaining high-quality German parallel corpora.
- Own project schedules, resource coordination, milestones, risk control, and delivery across algorithm, engineering, and business teams.
- Establish AI translation quality evaluation standards such as MQM and implement MTPE workflows.
- Improve the German shopping experience by addressing consumer behavior, privacy, legal compliance, and cross-cultural collaboration challenges.
Requirements
- Native German speaker with a strong foundation in German literature and culture and an understanding of local linguistic preferences and cultural taboos.
- English as a working language.
- Hands-on experience building AI translation models and localizing or implementing NMT and LLM systems.
- Experience with model training, corpus cleaning, and translation evaluation mechanisms.
- 3+ years of project management experience with a record of delivering results under resource constraints and uncertainty.
- Strong cross-cultural collaboration, problem-solving, resilience, and self-drive in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
