Lead Production Technician - Weekend Second Shift (Fri, Sat, Sun) (Fusion Energy): Leading teams building high-temperature superconducting magnets and electromechanical assemblies for fusion devices with an accent on manufacturing quality, production scheduling, and hands-on mechanical and electrical systems. Focus on qualifying manufacturing processes, troubleshooting discrepancies, and ensuring safe, precise assembly and testing across cryogenic, vacuum, pressure, magnetic, and pneumatic systems.
Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; on-site. Weekend second shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 p.m.–6 a.m.
Salary: $32–$52 per hour, plus 30% shift differential, equity, and benefits.

What you will do
- Lead, hire, and support the training of technicians and welders building electromechanical parts and assemblies.
- Coordinate production schedules, resources, quality requirements, cost, and delivery.
- Work with manufacturing engineers and technicians to develop and qualify manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Build production hardware according to procedures, specifications, test instructions, and schedules.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote safety, work-area cleanliness, performance accountability, and clear team communication.
Requirements
- High school diploma, equivalency certificate, or higher.
- At least 2 years of formal leadership experience in manufacturing.
- At least 6 years of technical experience including mechanical and electrical assembly, plumbing, vacuum systems, epoxy potting, injection molding, cryogenic systems, soldering, or wiring.
- Ability to lead a team, provide precise direction, work independently, and communicate daily and weekly goals.
- Ability to use mechanical and precision-calibrated tools, including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work extended periods standing or sitting, and work nights, weekends, or occasional on-call shifts.
Nice to have
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma.
- Experience with winding equipment.
