TL;DR
Lead Production Technician - Third Shift (Fusion Energy): Leading the hands-on production of high-temperature superconducting magnets and electromechanical assemblies for fusion devices with an accent on manufacturing quality, scheduling, safety, and multidisciplinary technical work. Focus on developing and qualifying manufacturing processes, troubleshooting discrepancies, and building and testing assemblies involving mechanical, electrical, magnetic, cryogenic, pressure, vacuum, and pneumatic systems.
Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; on-site. Weekday third shift, Monday–Friday, 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.
Salary: $32–$52 per hour, plus a 15% shift differential, equity, and benefits.

What you will do
- Lead, hire, and support training for technicians and welders building electromechanical parts and assemblies.
- Coordinate production schedules, resources, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and technicians to develop and qualify manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Build production hardware according to procedures, specifications, test instructions, and schedules.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, quality, and work-area standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma, equivalency certificate, or higher.
- At least 2 years of formal leadership experience in manufacturing.
- At least 6 years of technical experience including mechanical and electrical assembly, plumbing, vacuum systems, epoxy potting, injection molding, cryogenic systems, soldering, or wiring.
- Ability to lead a team, provide clear direction, work independently, and communicate goals effectively.
- Ability to work hands-on with precision tools and perform assembly and testing from start to finish.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work around industrial hazards including high voltage, strong magnets, lead, fumes, noise, heat, cold, and cryogenics.
Nice to have
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma.
- Experience with winding equipment.
