Operations and Improvement Consultant (Financial Services)

Location: London Victoria, United Kingdom; hybrid working with at least 2 days per week in the office or on client site, and up to 5 days per week on a client site depending on the assignment

What you will do

• Deliver operational effectiveness and efficiency improvements across front, middle, and back office service areas.
• Optimise processes for banking and wealth and asset management clients.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques, digital technologies, cost improvement methods, and change management.
• Lead assignment workstreams, assignments, and diverse project teams.
• Facilitate workshops, provide evidence-based insights, and manage complex senior stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver training, service designs, and implementation plans that realise measurable business benefits.

Requirements

• Experience in financial services cost optimisation and operational improvement.
• Experience delivering similar projects, preferably in banking or wealth and asset management.
• Proven ability to lead workstreams, assignments, and large diverse project teams.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate challenging discussions, and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, stakeholder management, and customer service skills.
• Applicants must be British citizens or have maintained continuous UK residency for the past 5 years where security clearance is required; background checks and Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in a large consultancy firm or internal consultancy function.
• Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience developing new business.
• At Principal Consultant level, prior consulting and line management experience.
