Senior Staff Application Engineer (48V DC/DC)

Location: Austin, Texas; onsite, with no remote work available

What you will do

• Investigate and verify advanced solutions for 48V DC/DC applications.
• Design, validate, and continuously improve 48V evaluation boards and reference solutions.
• Validate complete systems involving controllers, gate drivers, power stages, and related components.
• Provide reference designs and technical support to customers, including design reviews, solution presentations, and issue resolution.
• Create datasheets, application notes, presentations, and demo-board manuals, including technical text, graphs, and diagrams.
• Design and perform manual and automated laboratory tests to characterize power-management circuits and prevent failures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Power Electronics Engineering.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with 48V DC/DC power systems.
• Understanding of power-converter topologies, control-loop theory, magnetics, and power-converter applications.
• Proficiency with SIMPLIS or a similar switching-regulator circuit simulator.
• Proficiency with PCB CAD tools for schematic capture and layout.
• Strong laboratory problem-solving and root-cause debugging skills.
