Hardware Quality Engineering Manager

Location: In-office at the manufacturing facility in Spanish Fork, Utah, United States; travel is required as needed for supplier collaboration and engineering initiatives.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team covering quality engineering, supplier quality, metrology, and equipment calibration.
• Analyze non-conformance data from incoming, in-process, and field-return inspections and drive root-cause investigations and permanent corrective actions.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to validate test methods, inspection criteria, screening processes, and production test fixtures.
• Direct supplier quality activities, including vendor accountability, SCARs, corrective actions, and component qualification.
• Build ISO 9001-compliant documentation, standard operating procedures, and process controls for lean manufacturing.
• Represent Quality in NPI stage-gate reviews and oversee metrology, First Article Inspections, calibration, and hardware quality reporting.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in hardware quality, reliability, or manufacturing engineering, including 2+ years in engineering management or team leadership.
• Experience establishing ISO 9001-aligned quality processes in a lean manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and DMAIC root-cause analysis for electro-mechanical hardware, solar/power systems, custom PCBAs, and vision devices.
• Experience validating test methods, screening processes, and test equipment fixtures with Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, metrology equipment, First Article Inspections, and calibration governance.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline is required.
