Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Hybrid role based in Morganton, North Carolina; Bothell, Washington; Illinois; or Melville, New York, United States. Up to 50% travel is required.

Salary: $130,000–$145,000 in New York/Washington; $110,000–$125,000 in North Carolina; $120,000–$135,000 in Illinois.

What you will do

• Drive supplier quality, delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement performance across the supply base.
• Lead complex quality investigations using 8D, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action processes.
• Support supplier selection, qualification, quality system evaluations, process audits, and source inspections.
• Provide quality leadership for new products and design changes, including component qualification, first article approval, validation, and process readiness.
• Establish inspection strategies, control plans, and supplier quality plans aligned with product requirements and critical characteristics.
• Lead supplier development initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, and related methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• At least five years of supplier quality engineering, supplier development, or related quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced knowledge of SPC, DOE, process capability, AQL, root cause analysis, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and First Article Inspection.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and experience conducting supplier QMS, process, and compliance audits.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and quality requirements, and use precision measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
• Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Certified ISO Lead Auditor certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite or other ERP systems.
