Senior Software Engineer, Backend Systems (Aerospace Communications)

Location: Remote (United States); flexible arrangements may include hybrid remote/in-office schedules.

What you will do

• Design and evolve core data models for complex communications networks.
• Design, build, test, and operate APIs used by people and systems to interact with Spacetime.
• Develop durable abstractions for heterogeneous physical and logical networks.
• Maintain the quality, compatibility, consistency, and performance of core product models and interfaces.
• Manage project priorities, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience designing and developing production software systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, testing, and debugging.
• Experience designing durable APIs, schemas, or domain models and evolving production interfaces while maintaining compatibility.
• Proficiency in Golang, C, C++, Rust, or Java.
• Applicants must satisfy U.S. export-control eligibility requirements for access to ITAR/EAR-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience modeling RF or optical physical-layer communications systems.
• Experience with production transport network design and operations.
• Familiarity with networking, telecommunications, or network orchestration.
